As a visitor in Stockholm, you might be having a problem with knowing how you will arrive at the city center once you land at the airport. However, Stockholm has presented to you a number of ways by which you can make your travel to the city much easier. This article gives different ways you can reach Stockholm City once you land at Arlanda Airport.

Arlanda Express

If you want to travel from Stockholm airport to the city center in the quickest and easiest way possible, then you should take the Arlanda Express. This train service leaves every 15 minutes and takes just 20 minutes to reach Stockholm Central Station, making it the fastest way to travel between the airport and the city. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the ticket machines at the station and cost around SEK 280 for a return journey.

Traveling by Arlanda express has many advantages over other methods of transport, such as being cheaper than taking a taxi and quicker than taking the bus. You are also sure that when you take the express train, you will not get stuck in any traffic.

Going by taxi

If you’re looking to travel from Stockholm Airport to Stockholm City, one of the easiest and most convenient ways to do so is by taking a taxi. The fare should cost around SEK 400-500 (approx. EUR 40-50), although it’s always best to confirm the price with your driver before getting in the car. Taxis are readily available at the airport, and the journey into the city center takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Traveling by bus

The cheapest and most convenient way to travel from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Stockholm City is by taking the Flygbussarna Airport Bus. The bus departs every 10-15 minutes from all four of the airport’s terminals and takes approximately 40 minutes to reach Stockholm City. A one-way ticket costs SEK 119 (approx. EUR 12) and can be purchased either online or from the driver.

If you’re planning on using public transport during your stay in Stockholm, it might be worth considering buying an SL Access card, which gives you unlimited travel on all of Stockholm’s buses, trains, and metros for a period of 24 hours, three days, or seven days. The only downside of traveling by bus is that you’ll have to lug your luggage with you onto the bus and then up the stairs when you reach your stop in Stockholm City.
