Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) officials anticipate a historic surge in travel this Memorial Day weekend, expecting to serve approximately 1.5 million passengers over the three-day period that marks the start of the summer travel season.
According to a news release, Friday is projected to be the busiest day, with an estimated 260,000 travelers passing through the airport.
Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of Revenue Management and Customer Experience, highlighted the readiness of the airport staff: “Our more than 300 volunteer Ambassadors and professional Airport Customer Experience Specialists (ACES) are prepared to assist travelers with advice, resources, and everything needed for a smooth trip through DFW.”
DFW anticipates a total of 25 million passengers between May and July, representing a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year. Throughout the summer, more than 268,000 passengers are expected daily.
To ensure a smooth experience, the airport advises passengers to arrive at least two hours early and to reserve parking in advance.
