Akrotiri:
Akrotiri is an area full of archeological specimens. Its location along the shores of Caldera on the south side of the island. It was first discovered in the late 1960s. Its buildings are believed to have been built around the 16th century BC. Although much of the eruption has been destroyed, it has been excavated year after year and the area is now open to visitors. The houses here have all the ancient fresco designs and pottery.
Red Beach:
It is one of the unique beaches in the world, aptly named for the unique color of its sand. To the amazement of many visitors, the beaches of Santorini are not shaken with tropical palms or burnt with powdered, golden sand. This volcanic island has given birth to a splendid landscape of uniquely curled landscapes and Red Beach is one of them. The Museum of Prehistoric Thera is one of the most important museums in Greece because it belongs to one of the largest regional civilizations in the prehistoric world. The excavations at Akrotiri are conducted in that museum, which is considered to be the exotic site of Akrotiri’s archeological site.
Excavations in the Akrori region illuminated a vast center of the ancient world that blossomed in the Aegean Sea 3600 BC in the 17 century BC.
